The hardest part in using forms is the template for emails. But we will try to help you with some little tips to create a simple email template. We will show you how to create a simple email template.
At first open the 'Mail Templates' section in your project or sub configuration. When you havn't any templates yet, then it should looks so:
For our new email template we will name it 'Contact Mail' and click on 'Create'. By clicking on 'Create' the email template will be opened directly and you will see the email template settings.
For writing an email template are more than the one-and-only way. In general all email templates are providing placeholders for form fields 'Internal Name' and the customer Id 'C:ID', eg. [email] or [C:ID]. The internal name is set on field settings at the form. The email templates are able to use html, that make styled view possible.
FlyingForms is providing you two presets for an easier start. That can be chosen by selecting 'Preset A' or 'Preset B' in the 'Preset' dropdown. It will put the necessary html in the template field. Some crazy stuff is possible.
For a simple email notification mail when a form was submitted, just a few lines needed. This example will render a simple table with the data that a customers entered in your contact form:
By clicking on the preview section in the left sidebar, we can see the rendered html. Keep in mind that the html will be interpreted in another way in Outlook and other mail clients. In case you need help, feel free to contact us.
